A visible scratch on used furniture shown by phone before collection

Who checks
your furniture purchase?

A transport booking is not a full product inspection. Agree condition and parts with the seller, and ask support about arranging a video viewing.

You and the seller must clarify the furniture's condition and included parts. Teleporter's driver collects what is handed over; the driver does not automatically perform a full functional check or inspect sealed-box contents. A video viewing following your instructions can be arranged with support.

The essentials, in brief.

  • Agree condition, accessories and loose parts directly with the seller.
  • A video viewing needs a practical arrangement and takes paid working time.
  • A photo or video cannot document every hidden issue.

01 · Before collection

Write down what the purchase includes

Ask whether screws, legs, shelves, cushions or other loose parts are included. For dismantled furniture, a bag of fittings matters as much as the large components.

Ask the seller to gather and mark everything to be collected. Send the driver specific collection instructions. 'Collect the wardrobe' does not necessarily explain that two shelves are also in the basement.

02 · Video viewing

How to view the item remotely

Contact support before the trip if you want the driver to make a video call. Be ready to answer and explain which visible details you want to see.

You make your own assessment from what is shown and resolve questions with the seller. The agreed viewing takes paid task time; it is not a free extra inspection.

03 · Limitations

What can a video viewing not establish?

A video can show a surface or visible parts but cannot necessarily confirm every component inside a sealed box or whether a function works. Lighting, angle and packaging can limit the view.

Avoid giving the driver open-ended instructions to approve the purchase on your behalf. Agree beforehand what should happen if something differs from the description, and stay available to decide yourself.

04 · If something is missing

Clarify the purchase before the trip continues

If the seller does not have an agreed part ready, discuss the handover with them and contact support about transport. Free waiting or a later return within the same job is not automatically available.

This guide concerns purchase and handover, not insurance coverage or decisions on damage claims. Report details of any specific transport incident to support.

Ready for moving day?

One final review.

  • Describe the furniture and all included parts.
  • Send clear collection instructions.
  • Arrange any video viewing with support.
  • Stay available to decide if anything is unclear.
