The right moving boxes depend on what you are packing, how many you need and whether you want to keep them. Teleporter does not currently rent out moving boxes. You can obtain boxes yourself or arrange a packing task and materials with support.

The essentials, in brief.

  • Choose boxes for the contents.
  • Check rental return conditions.
  • Inspect reused boxes before packing.

01 · Buying: choose for the contents

Buying: choose for the contents

New boxes let you choose dimensions and stated load limits suitable for the belongings. Follow the supplier’s assembly and loading instructions. Similar sizes can make labelling and organising the load easier.

Include tape, labels and protective material in your plan. A new box does not protect fragile contents by itself. Get the materials early enough to finish packing before the booked vehicle arrives.

02 · Renting: include the return arrangements

Renting: include the return arrangements

Check the rental provider’s collection or delivery arrangements, rental period, cleaning rules and charges for missing or damaged boxes. The initial rental price is only part of the comparison if returning them takes another journey.

Choose a realistic unpacking deadline. If you separately hire Teleporter to transport empty boxes, that is a transport booking with its applicable charging rules; it is not a box rental service or an included return trip.

03 · Reusing: inspect the actual boxes

Reusing: inspect the actual boxes

Check bottoms, seams and handles and avoid boxes weakened by moisture or earlier use. Remove outdated labels so helpers do not send the contents to the wrong room. The fact that a box survived one move does not guarantee its current condition.

Do not treat any random large box as suitable for a heavy load. Use manageable units, follow available product guidance and close them properly. Protect fragile contents appropriately and tell support about unusual packing needs.

04 · Compare the whole task

Compare the whole task

Consider how you will obtain, prepare, unpack, store or return the boxes, not only their unit price. Choose an arrangement that leaves enough time to pack before the move starts.

For Teleporter packing help, discuss people, materials and work in advance. Materials used are charged as agreed and packing takes paid task time. A normal carrying booking should not be assumed to include a supply of empty boxes.
