Moving your fridge.
Get it ready in time.
Empty and prepare your fridge before moving. Check defrosting, transport position, loose parts and waiting time before switching it on at the new address.

A fridge must be empty, prepared and ready to carry when the move begins. Allow time for defrosting, protect loose parts and follow the manufacturer's instructions for transport position and reconnecting afterwards. No single waiting time applies to every fridge.
The essentials, in brief.
- Remove food and plan defrosting.
- The transport position depends on the model.
- Switch it on only as the manufacturer instructs.
01 · Empty, defrost and dry before moving day
Empty, defrost and dry before moving day
Plan to handle food separately so the fridge can be emptied before collection. An ordinary moving job is not automatically an agreement for refrigerated transport. If frost or ice needs melting, allow time for this and for drying the appliance afterwards.
Follow your model's instructions for defrosting and disconnection. Do not wait for the moving team to arrive before starting to defrost. If the fridge has a water connection, ice maker or fitted installation, arrange the necessary preparation separately.
02 · Protect loose parts and measure access
Protect loose parts and measure access
Glass shelves, drawers and other loose parts must not move freely during transport. Follow the manufacturer's advice on removing or securing them, and pack removed glass separately. Protect the exterior and prevent the cable from trailing.
Send dimensions, weight and photos of the route if space is tight. Include handles and other protrusions in the measurements. A large fridge may need a different plan from a small freestanding model. Do not assume door or fitting removal is included in an ordinary booking.
03 · Must the fridge travel upright?
Must the fridge travel upright?
Plan around the manufacturer's recommended position. LG recommends upright transport wherever possible and explains that tilting can affect compressor oil. This is not general permission to lay other fridges down.
If the selected vehicle cannot transport the model as instructed, agree another solution before collection. A short journey is not a reason to ignore the instructions. Tell support about special requirements so the vehicle and handling can be assessed.
04 · When can it be switched on again?
When can it be switched on again?
Check the instructions for your exact fridge and account for how it was actually transported. Advice such as 'always wait 24 hours' or 'switch it on immediately' cannot apply to every model. Ask the manufacturer if the instructions are unclear.
For local Teleporter transport, payment depends on the chosen vehicle, help and working time, subject to the applicable minimum. Preparation left undone by the customer can cause waiting time or require a new arrangement. Confirm any extra help with support beforehand.
