If you must leave your old home before the new one is available, you can arrange transport to storage and a later trip onwards. You choose and book the storage yourself. Teleporter handles the agreed transport and carrying, not the storage space.

The essentials, in brief.

  • Check the exact key handover times.
  • Reserve storage independently.
  • Allow a minimum charge for each booking.

01 · Start with the actual key handover times

Start with the actual key handover times

Check when the old property must be empty and when you can enter the new one. Dates alone are not enough: an afternoon key handover may prevent a morning delivery even on the correct moving day.

Confirm storage access for both trips, including gates, lifts and opening arrangements. Reserve enough suitable space through the storage provider rather than assuming the transport booking includes somewhere to leave the load.

02 · Plan two complete tasks

Plan two complete tasks

Book the first journey from the old home to storage and the second from storage to the new home. Each needs an appropriate vehicle, carrying arrangement and contact at both ends.

For ordinary local vehicle bookings, the 60-minute minimum applies to each booking. A short first trip does not remove that minimum or turn the later trip into a continuation at no additional minimum. Intercity stages need their own agreed price arrangement.

03 · Pack for the days in between

Pack for the days in between

Keep a separate bag with things you will need while waiting for the new home. Label boxes clearly and tell the team what needs to remain accessible in the unit.

Use packaging that can stay with the furniture. Blankets and equipment from the vehicle must return to the driver. If you need packing assistance or materials, agree the task with support before arrival.

04 · Handle a changed move-in date early

Handle a changed move-in date early

If the key date moves, cancel the affected booking and create a new one, or contact support for urgent changes. There is no separate rescheduling fee, but ordinary cancellation conditions apply once the driver has departed.

A revised date needs available people and a vehicle. Confirm it rather than assuming the original booking guarantees capacity at another time. Keep the storage agreement and the two transport arrangements up to date together.

Ready for moving day?

One final review.

  • Check the exact key handover times.
  • Reserve storage independently.
  • Allow a minimum charge for each booking.
  • Keep essentials outside the stored load.
