Planning
Book for someone else.
Connect every stop.
Book transport from your own Teleporter account for a relative or another recipient. Set contacts, carrying instructions, access and payment at every address.
You can book from your own Teleporter account and have other people meet the driver. Add the relevant contact name and phone number at each address in the app. The person who pays for the transport can also be different from the person who booked.
The essentials, in brief.
- Name a contact at every stop.
- Explain who will carry.
- Arrange the payer and payment method.
01 · Give every address its own contact
Give every address its own contact
If you will not be there, do not rely only on your own phone number. Identify the person releasing the goods and the person receiving them. Extra collection stops may each need a different contact.
Use the comments for the entrance, floor, door and exact items. You can also explain the arrangement to support. Keep your own phone available if the contacts need you to decide about a change.
02 · Explain the selected service to everyone
Explain the selected service to everyone
Tell both contacts whether the driver only drives, helps carry or comes with extra helpers. A relative should not discover at arrival that they are expected to lift a sofa because you chose a driving-only booking.
If nobody at either end can help lift, arrange sufficient people for the furniture and access. Describe heavy items or narrow stairs in advance. A contact who can open the door is not necessarily a carrying helper.
03 · Choose who pays at completion
Choose who pays at completion
A partner, relative or another recipient can pay the driver. Ordinary bookings currently use cash, so explain that beforehand. The driver records the payment in the app.
A different contact name does not automatically create invoice credit. If a company will pay, or nobody will attend completion, discuss the payment arrangement with support before the journey.
04 · What if nobody can attend?
What if nobody can attend?
Key or code access and delivery without a recipient can be agreed with support. Provide clear placement instructions and the necessary permission. Support can ask for written acceptance, for example by SMS from your phone.
Request delivery photographs beforehand if you want them. Agree how the team gets in, where the items go and how questions reach you; a vague instruction to leave everything somewhere is not a complete handover plan.
Ready for moving day?
One final review.
- Name a contact at every stop.
- Explain who will carry.
- Arrange the payer and payment method.
- Agree unattended access in advance.
Have a good move — and a good start at your new address.
