You can book transport for a bed or mattress without moving the rest of your home. Start by identifying all parts, their dimensions during transport and who will carry them. A bed that dismantles requires different preparation from a complete divan base.

The essentials, in brief.

  • A bed can be booked as a single-item transport job.
  • Measure each large component as it will travel.
  • Assembly and disassembly must be agreed.

01 · Measure the parts that will actually move

Measure the parts that will actually move

List the mattress, headboard, frame and storage components separately. The dimensions of the largest indivisible part matter for doors, stairs and the van. The assembled bed's dimensions alone may not be enough.

Send support photos if the headboard is tall, stairs are narrow or the bed has a heavy mechanism. Give both addresses and floors. A mattress fitting in the van does not mean it will fit through the building.

02 · Does the bed need dismantling?

Consult the bed's own assembly instructions before loosening anything. Arrange disassembly or assembly with support so a suitable team can be found. It is not automatically included in a driver-only job.

Have the instructions, fittings and necessary replacement parts ready. Label loose parts so they can be matched to the correct bed. Do not fold or roll a mattress unless its manufacturer permits this for the specific model.

03 · Agree carrying and completion

Choose transport only if you have people to load and unload. If you want the team to carry everything indoors, include that in the booked help. Customers do not have to lift when a sufficient crew has been booked.

Protect the mattress and bed surfaces with suitable packaging before arrival, or arrange packing in advance. Packing, dismantling and assembly take time. On a local per-minute job, the task ends only when the agreed work is complete.
