Usable furniture can find a new owner, but acceptance must be agreed before the van arrives. Teleporter provides transport; the customer finds the recipient and confirms they will accept that particular item. There is no automatic arrangement with a charity shop.

The essentials, in brief.

  • Confirm acceptance before booking the van.
  • Describe condition, dimensions and carrying needs.
  • Donating does not guarantee free collection.

01 · Get a clear yes for the actual item

Send photos, dimensions and an honest condition description. Disclose damage, missing parts or anything else affecting acceptance. A general furniture-donation notice does not confirm acceptance of every type or size.

Ask the shop or organisation where to deliver, who will receive it and what times suit them. If giving furniture to an individual, also agree who will help on delivery.

02 · Distinguish collection from carrying indoors

A recipient's acceptance does not necessarily mean someone will carry from the van. Book the help actually needed and describe floors and access. Transport without carrying help requires others to do the lifting.

Several items for different recipients can include multiple addresses when planned. Gather contacts and instructions so the driver knows which items belong at each stop. Extra stops take time and must fit the schedule.

03 · If the recipient refuses

If the recipient refuses

Do not start transport based on an uncertain maybe. If circumstances change, contact the recipient and support to agree the next step. The driver cannot force an organisation to accept furniture.

Disposal is a different task with its own receiving facility and possible fees. It is not automatically included as a free backup plan. Clarify alternatives if you have a tight deadline to empty the property.

Ready for moving day?

One final review.

  • Find a recipient.
  • Send honest photos.
  • Agree the address and time window.
  • Arrange carrying at both locations.
Find a vehicle and carrying help

Have a good move — and a good start at your new address.
