01 · How we compare

Start with the whole bill.

Between homes, during renovation or while a sofa needs somewhere to wait, storage can make a transition easier. A low headline rate does not necessarily tell you what the stay costs. Insurance, locks, payment fees and cancellation can change the result.

We reviewed the 24 businesses in our original register and 25 additional candidates, including other storage formats and areas. This guide compares only five networks for which we could calculate specific available packages with known compulsory costs. It is not every warehouse in the region, nor a claim that other businesses have poor terms.

The model is for a new private customer starting on 1 November 2026 for 1, 3 or 6 full calendar months. It includes rent, selected contents cover of at least DKK 50,000, known compulsory fees and a new lock where needed. Nettolager also has a separate own-lock option. Transport and refundable deposits are outside the spending total.

02 · Which is cheapest?

The winner also depends on your lock.

For at least 2 m², Nettolager Ishøj with an actual 2.1 m² room is lowest among the researched complete packages for three and six months: DKK 856 and 1,990 including a new DKK 100 lock. With an existing suitable class 1 lock, the figures are DKK 756 and 1,890.

If the Nettolager model includes buying a new lock, Green Storage Skovlunde is lowest for both 5 and 10 m²: DKK 2,096 for three months and 5,090 for six. Both selected sizes have the same DKK 899 monthly rent and DKK 99 monthly insurance, with DKK 1 rent for the first 30 days.

With your own approved Nettolager lock, 5.1 m² at Glostrup, Fabriksparken 25, becomes slightly cheaper: DKK 1,998 and 4,995. That is only DKK 98 and 95 below Green. Extra driving, stairs or inconvenient access can easily make the other option more useful.

For one month, several new-lock models total DKK 100: Green charges DKK 1 rent and DKK 99 insurance; a marked Nettolager room has free first-month rent and included insurance, with DKK 100 for a new lock. With your own approved Nettolager lock, that first-month model can therefore be DKK 0. This is an introductory benefit, not the regular rate.

03 · Nettolager

Nettolager: a straightforward short-stay model.

The selected Ishøj and Glostrup rooms come from the actual available-room inventory, not a general starting price. Cover of DKK 100,000 is included. The examples assume an ordinary private DK/EU/NO/IS/CH card with no card fee; other card types can add up to 3.10%. Check the policy limits and excess.

The first month is free only where the specific room shows the campaign. New-customer eligibility includes no rental in the previous 12 months, with household and extra-room restrictions. There is no binding period or cancellation notice, but empty the room and remove your lock before cancelling through the app or website. Access is advertised as 24/7.

04 · Green Storage

Green Storage: compare rooms with the same offer.

The Skovlunde examples are temperature-controlled rooms, with access from 05:00 to 22:00 daily. The selected cover is DKK 100,000 for DKK 99 a month. Digital access means no extra lock purchase is included for these indoor units. Any refundable security required under the agreement is separate from the spending total.

The DKK 1 offer applies to the first 30 days of rent for qualifying new agreements and marked rooms only. Insurance remains DKK 99 each month. Cancel online by the 15th to end at that calendar month’s end; later notice means another month. Green can change certain charges with notice, so the six-month figure is not a guarantee.

05 · Boxstation

Boxstation: include the card fee and check the climate.

The selected examples are 3 m² in Valby, a 5 m² container at City/Amagerbro and an unheated 10 m² room in Valby. These are different storage formats. The container and unheated room must suit what you intend to store; a low price does not make an unheated space suitable for every piece of furniture.

The regular rents are DKK 669, 779 and 1,239 a month respectively. For comparable cover, the model selects optional DKK 75,000 insurance for DKK 99 a month. There is also DKK 29 per card transaction. We assume one combined monthly payment; extra transactions can mean extra fees. Lock and key are included, and no separate introductory offer is applied. Monthly packages are DKK 797, 907 and 1,367.

The initial period is 30 days, followed by monthly renewal. November is exactly 30 days in our scenario. Cancel in writing before the paid period ends, empty the room and return the key by the deadline. The provider describes access as 24/7; check the actual facility.

06 · Pelican

Pelican: half-price rent is not half the whole bill.

The selected Pelican rooms have 50% off rent for the first two months for new customers. We use the exact half-rent calculation, not the rounded campaign headline. Insurance and setup are not discounted. Ellebjerg showed DKK 150 setup including the lock; the other 12 researched branches showed DKK 299.

The lowest selectable policy depends on size: DKK 50,000 cover for DKK 109 a month at 2 m²; DKK 75,000 for DKK 149 at 5 m²; and DKK 200,000 for DKK 299 at the selected 10–12 m² rooms. A documented external policy may be possible, but is not the standard online model used here.

The cheapest one-month model may use a different facility from the three- and six-month models. Read the branch and floor area beside each price. Access is normally 05:30–22:00. Give written notice by the 15th to leave at that month’s end; later notice also incurs the following month. Prices can change after the initial period with notice.

07 · Shurgard

Shurgard: a clear price with a clear offer deadline.

Marked first-month offers can mean DKK 1 rent, not a DKK 1 total payment. Our comparable package selects DKK 55,000 cover for DKK 260 a month and adds DKK 149 for a standard lock once. Online setup is DKK 0; telephone or in-store setup follows a different model. The selected first-month example is therefore DKK 410.

Important: the selected monthly offers expire on 29 October 2026. The 1 November calculation applies only if the qualifying offer is secured before that deadline. A reservation can hold the price and promotion for 30 days; we have made no reservation. Offers apply to selected units and qualifying new customers, with household restrictions.

The initial minimum is one month, with 15 days’ written notice before the next monthly period. The reviewed agreement protects the rent for the first six months; it does not extend an expired promotion. For at least 10 m², the cheapest one-month example is an actual 22 m² room in Valby/Sydhavnen, while three and six months use 12 m² in Østerbro. These are not identical units.

08 · Size and conditions

Measure the floor. Check the access too.

2, 5 and 10 m² describe floor area, not volume in m³. A small unit may suit boxes and a few pieces of furniture; a larger one may be useful for several rooms. We do not promise that a particular home fits a given floor area. Measure the largest items and make an inventory before choosing.

Ask about ceiling height, door width, columns and sloping walls. If you need access during storage, allow space for an aisle. Check stairs or lifts, the distance from the vehicle and trolley availability. A slightly larger accessible room may be more practical than squeezing into the minimum.

Temperature-controlled does not necessarily mean humidity-controlled. Store dry belongings, protect furniture appropriately for its material, and ask the provider about moisture-sensitive items. Our comparison therefore clearly marks unheated containers and rooms.

09 · Sources and scope

What we do not assume.

The comparison uses public consumer-facing amounts as displayed. We do not arbitrarily add VAT to an already advertised consumer price. Missing explicit VAT wording, deposits and other caveats remain recorded in the source material. The actual agreement and final payment still need checking.

A waiting-list price is not an available room. A pallet space, garage and self-service unit are different services. A provider using your own contents policy may be attractive, but we do not invent your individual premium. Only complete comparable models enter the price table.

The main comparison covers the near Copenhagen belt. Options also exist farther out, such as a 6 m² Green unit in Hillerød with the same researched price as Skovlunde’s 5 m². That does not make it a Copenhagen facility. Geography belongs in both the decision and the transport budget.

No provider is cheapest for every date and every set of belongings. This guide describes the documented price snapshot from 24–25 October 2026.
